KATHERINE O'MALLEY

Katherine has been working as a Photographer since she left school, but her love of Photography started before she was in primary school, taking happy snaps of her siblings and pets with a Kodak Instamatic 104. At school her father built her a darkroom under the family home in New Farm, where she spent many hours perfecting her craft.

Katherine has been taking photos since before she started school, and continued to do so through her school years. After she finished school, she worked as a photographer while continuing study of Applied Science Computing at TAFE, and then multimedia. Using these skills to build a website she then focused on photography and has been working as a photographer ever since, specializing in commercial, food, event and portrait photography.

 What she loves about Photography is capturing that single moment in time, and also the challenges with different subjects, lighting and environments and that no two jobs are the same. 

As National Manager, Qld Mentor and Music Photographer for online music publication AMNplify, she has been able to share her knowledge and passion with like minded Photographers all over Australia. She is also the holder of a current Blue Card for working with children.
